Statement from Jean Stephens MD
4th March 2022
Statement from Jean Stephens, Managing Director, Wirral Evolutions Ltd
Wirral Council Adult Social Care and Public Health Committee met on the evening of the 3rd March 2022 to consider what additional added value a wholly owned company brings to the Council (known as Wirral Evolutions Ltd) in the delivery of day services for adults with a learning and/or physical disability.
Elected Members from all parties recognised the significant improvements made by Wirral Evolutions during the last 3 years, in particular, raising quality standards, strong leadership & governance, the excellent response to the COVID-19 pandemic, and stakeholder engagement – all of which have enabled the people centred vision to enhance the life skills of the people supported to reach their personal potential.
The decision - The Adult Social Care and Public Health Committee approved the decision to bring the day service contract currently delivered by Wirral Evolutions Ltd back into the Council, within a six-month period from the 1st April 2022.
Whilst Wirral Evolutions Ltd is saddened by this decision, WE will continue to work in partnership with Wirral Council to ensure a smooth transition for our workforce, people we support, parents, carers and family members and ensure effective communications and information is shared.
