#OneLifeLetsLiveIt

Due to the ongoing COVID-19 outbreak the majority of our services are currently closed. There is emergency provision in place for a number of people we support and we are keeping in touch with anyone who normally attends our service.

Updates can be found on our website and via our twitter and Facebook accounts

Our Corporate Services office in Wallasey is currently closed but we have two temporary numbers you can contact while the office is closed:

Community While Apart

Whilst we haven't been able to be together at our settings the past few months, we have been working hard to keep our sense of community.

Our amazing staff are in regular contact with the people we support and their families and we have been building up our online community to help us all keep in touch during this time.

We are here to provide support, so if you feel like you are struggling at home you can contact us via the details above, or reach out to any of the support networks listed at the end of this newsletter.

You can also contact us via email admin@wirralevolutions.org

Keeping Active While At Home

Keeping active is key for both mental and physical wellbeing. We have put together a quick Easy Read guide with ideas of ways you can stay active while at home.

There are a number of great resources out there that can help:

National Gardening Week

Last week was National Gardening Week. With so many of us being at home, there is no better time to take up gardening as a hobby, whether you have a full garden, a small greenhouse or a well lit windowsill.

Whatever your circumstances there are a whole host of amazing resources to guide you through the basics and get you growing this Spring.

Let us know via our social media channels if you have been getting green fingered.

Wirral Evolutions YouTube Channel

We were pleased to recently launch our very own YouTube channel as another way of keeping in touch.

Our amazing workforce and their families have been putting together some fabulous videos to share with you all, including this video from Lisa and her daughter teaching us how to do chair Zumba.

COVID-19 Scams

The UK government and other organisations are urging people to be extra careful as criminals have been using the current crisis to take advantage of vulnerable people.

These criminals can contact you by phone, email, text, on social media, or in person. They will try to trick you into parting with your money, personal information, or buying goods or services that don’t exist.

Tips to Protect Yourself from Scams:

STOP, CHALLENGE and PROTECT
  • STOP and think before giving over money or sharing your information with someone.
  • THINK about whether a request could be fake. It is OK to refuse a request if you are unsure.
  • Your bank or the Police WILL NEVER ask you to withdraw money or transfer it to a different account - they will also never ask you to reveal your full banking password or PIN.
  • DO NOT click on links or attachments in texts or emails you are unsure of.
  • CONFIRM requests are genuine by using a known number or email address to contact organisations directly.
  • Contact your bank IMMEDIATELY if you think you’ve fallen for a scam and report it to Action Fraud
  • To keep secure online, ensure you are using the latest software, apps and operating systems on your phones, tablets and laptops - update these regularly or set your devices to automatically update so you don’t have to worry.
